Kym Stokes began her classical ballet training at the National Theatre Ballet School in Melbourne under Gailene Stock. She then joined the Australian Ballet School Graduating with an Advanced Diploma in Dance. Kym furthered her career by dancing with Queensland Ballet Company in Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, Scheherazade and Alice working with Artistic Director Harold Collins.
Following her ballet career Kym and her husband Les developed their own Adagio and Aerial Act “Majestic” travelling the world performing as Guest Entertainers for various overseas companies including Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Norwegian cruise Lines. They have been a Specialty Act at Star Casino performing in shows Innerve, Storm and Zircus. They have performed at many Corporate events in Australia and overseas a highlight was performing at a a gala evening in Miami for Miami City Ballet Company. Majestic were Finalist on Australia’s Got Talent showcasing their Adagio and Aerial Acts.
Kym has a Masters of Fine Arts ( Dance & Aerial Choreography) from QUT and now teaching classical ballet,repertoire, conditioning and aerial to dancers in Brisbane. Mentor and private ballet coach for many young dance students, some are in the ABS extension program and QBA associate program. In 2016 developed and prepared a student for YAGP and personally traveled with her to New York City for the competition.
Co director of Majestic Artists creating and managing shows for corporate events and yearly producing an aerial dance show. Most recently directed and choreographed Tres Chic at La Boîte Theatre(December 2016), Choreographer for dancers at Mercedes Benz fashion festival and aerial dance for RNA fashion show (2015), created Fascia (aerial dance piece) for 2nd year BFA dance students at QUT(2013).
