2001

Created a new ballet for the Hong Kong Academy.

 

Appointed Artistic Director of the Queensland Youth Ballet

1999-2000

Continued as resident classical choreographer for QUT creating two new works for first year and graduate students.

 

Created a new full length ballet for the Cairns Civic Theatre.

 

Appointed Artistic Director of Toowoomba Young Dancers Company.

1998

Worked as an independent artist and as choreographer in residence at QUT, remounted a work for the Hong Kong Academy of the Performing Arts. Produced ballets for a number of regional theatres.

 

Achieved Registered Teacher status with the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet for all levels of training.



Queensland Ballet (1974-1997)

1978-1997

As Artistic Director

1997

Remounted Giselle for final season as Artistic Director.

1996

Lead the company on an 8 week, 33 city tour of the USA in conjunction with Colombia Artists.

1990

Brought under the company's arm the QDSE (Queensland Dance School of Excellence), a full time dance course where students attain their HSC with dance as a major component.

1988

Awarded the M.B.E in New Year's Honours list for services to the Dance and the Community.

1984

Awarded Australia's most prodigious arts award The Addams Award for Directorship.

1974-1978

Returned to the Queensland Ballet as principal dancer under the direction of Harry Haythorne.

 

1970-1966

Danced with San Francisco Ballet then joined London Festival Ballet under Beryl Grey.

1966

Rejoined the Queensland Ballet to dance Albrecht in Garth Welsh's production of Giselle.

1964-1966

Joined Royal New Zealand Ballet as soloist under Director Russell Kerr, Bryan Ashbridge and Paul Gnatt.

 

Danced in first full length work The Prince in Nutcracker then Zigfried in Swan Lake, Romeo and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet also as Pas Boy in Ashton's Rendezvous and the Skaters mounted by Dame Peggy Van Praagh.

1962-1964

Joined The Queensland Ballet as Founder Member after graduating from the Company's school under Charles Lisner A.M.
