Barbara Eversen - Director
Brisbane born and trained by a range of well-renowned teachers including Phyllis Danaher MBE FRAD, Martin Rubinstein OA FRAD,
Kathleen Daintree and Nellie Potts. Following her role as Principal Dancer in Ballet Theatre of Queensland, Barbara established her own
school - the Barbara Eversen School of Dancing which later became known as the Northern Ballet Academy. In 1976, she became a
Children's Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dancing and has since traveled the world examining and teaching students and teachers.
Since 1982 a selection of her students have continued to be accepted into the Australian Ballet School. In 1987, Barbara founded a
youth ballet company "Young Friends of the Ballet Inc." an involvement which continued for the next 14 years. In 1991 another new
venture occurred with the procurement of the Brisbane Dance Centre (BDC). In 1993 BDC gained government accreditation for its fulltime
courses. In 2002 Barbara became a Dual Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dance.

Janine McGrath
After graduating from University with a Bachelor of Education and commencing teaching with the Department of Education, Janine opened
her own dance school in 1994 which quickly developed a reputation as a leading school in classical ballet, with excellent teaching and
exceptional choreography. Janine's focus on providing the best possible ballet training has lead her to visit and attend courses run by
leading American teachers. Past and present students have attained outstanding examination and eisteddfod results. They have also
been finalists or prize winners at prestigious competitions both nationally and internationally. Past students have been accepted into The
Australian Ballet School, the Queensland Ballet, the Queensland Ballet Professional Year, Elmhurst School in Birmingham, The Royal
Canadian School, the Joffery Ballet School in New York and QUT dance courses. Janine now enjoys teaching at Brisbane Dance Centre
and is also the Artistic Director of Brisbane City Youth Ballet.

Jan Moore
Jan is a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and a Grades and Major Examiner for the Federal Association of
Teachers of Dancing (FATD). Former principal of her own studio in Rockhampton for 25 yrs, Jan now has over 40 years teaching
experience. She is a well regarded choreographer and a qualified adjudicator, who has extensively adjudicated at Festivals and Eisteddfods
throughout Australia. Past students of Miss Moore are presently performing in ballet companies overseas - most notably Leanne Benjamin,
who is a principal dancer with The Royal Ballet. Past students have also attended The Australian Ballet School, the Victorian College of Arts,
the Western Australian College of the Arts and the Queensland Dance School of Excellence.

Louise Deleur
Louise graduated from the Australian Ballet School in 1985 and chose to work with the West Australian Ballet Company before moving to
Sydney to work with the Sydney Dance Company. Louise then left the company to become a freelance dancer and choreographer
working in the more commercial side of theatre. In 1998 Louise decided to continue her study of dance and took several sabbaticals to
New York to retrain in classical, contemporary and jazz as well as the Pilates Method of rehabilitation. Louise returned to Australia to be
guest artist with West Australia Ballet. In 2001 Louise returned to New York and was then offered a guest teaching position in Classical
Ballet with Taipei National University of Arts for two consecutive years as well as guest teacher at Taiwan International Dance Summer
School. Louise now resides in Brisbane and continues to teach and choreograph in Classical and Contemporary techniques.

Natalie Lennox
Natalie is an experienced and dedicated teacher who loves teaching young children to dance. She has gained her Advanced RAD and has her RAD Teachers Certificate and has taught at a number of well known dance schools.

Natascia Papini
Born on the coast of Italy Natascia started classical ballet classes at the age of six. Driven by her passion for dance she soon became engaged in modern dance as well. As a teenager she commenced teaching, assisting her RAD teacher Antonella Bartolacci (who was a former dancer with the Scala Di Milano Dance Company). Through the course of many dance competitions Natascia developed a distinct passion for teaching. After moving to Australia in 1994 she trained at the The McDonald College and the well known Alegria Dance Studio, studying both RAD and the Cecchetti method. Under the direct mentoring of Hilary Kaplan and Archibald McKenzie she graduated as a teacher in 2003. Since then she has been teaching with passion and professional diligence in the best schools in Brisbane.

Leslie White
Born in England, Leslie began dancing at the age of seven, finishing his dancing training at the Royal Ballet School, London. Leslie joined the
Royal Ballet Company where he became a leading soloist. While touring Australia and New Zealand with the Royal Ballet, Leslie decided to
settle in Australia, opening a dance school in Adelaide. He also danced on Channel 7's live variety shows twice a week. Leslie took up a
contract with the Queensland Ballet as dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director and principal teacher. During this time he was appointed
assistant to the artistic director. Since leaving Queensland Ballet, Leslie has pursued a very long and rewarding career as a freelance ballet
teacher and choreographer in Brisbane and the North Coast.
