of Art (Dance Performance/Musical Theatre) 30428 Qld
Diploma of Art (Dance
Performance/Musical Theatre) 30429 Qld
Certificate IV in Art (Dance
Performance/Musical Theatre) 30430 Qld
All the above
qualifications are Austudy/Abstudy/Youth Allowance and CRICOS (01600A)
approved.
Those candidates who
audition successfully and confirm their enrolment in any of the above
qualification will be required to have a Physio Assessment conducted
by Pilates and Physio on Collingwood during Orientation week in
2009. This will also include a strength assessment for all male
students and female classical stream students before commencing pas de deux units. The fees for these assessments are to be paid directly to
Pilates & Physio on Collingwood.

All courses are
full time where students attend 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) from
approximately 9.00am until 4.00pm daily. At times, near Eisteddfod
blocks extra rehearsals could be called during the weekend and for the
Sydney Performing Arts Challenge always during one week of the
June/July holidays.
Students can on
successful completion gain a Ranking for University entrance. This
Ranking will be between 98 and 91 which on application to QTAC will be
given an OP equivalent of 2 to 6. The subjects within the course gain
this ranking and do not include any board subjects. Those students
who have entered with an OP can on successful completion apply to QTAC
for an upgrade.
Students must
achieve all core subjects or gain recognition of prior learning
credits for the successful completion of the course otherwise official
qualifications will not be awarded.
International Students
Are welcome as
ADPI holds CRICOS (01600A) registration. They also require an
audition (personally or Video/DVD, a Student Visa, Health Insurance
and an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent in English language skills before
entering selected theory subjects.
VIDEO/DVD
APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE:
Classical/Contemporary Stream
A verbal introduction by the applicant
stating what their aspirations for the future in dance are and why
he/she would like to be accepted into the course at ADPI.
Class (10 – 15 mins) covering Barre,
Adage, Pirouettes
A Classical Solo on pointe
A Solo of a different genre
(Contemporary, Jazz, Neo)
Musical Theatre
Stream
A verbal introduction by the applicant
stating what their aspirations for the future in this genre are and
why he/she would like to be accepted into the course at ADPI
A song preferably from a Musical
A 1 – 2 minute monologue
A Jazz Solo
A Tap Solo
On receipt of the
Audition Application Form, the audition timetable will be forwarded.
